Farm Suzanne was started in the
year 1984 as an offshoot of a seafood company. Our parent company enjoyed
the status of being a pioneer in south India in the business of shrimp
exports. A niche market was opening up in
the processed food category and this was the market the new company sought
to address. We have now grown into a private limited company that has a
variety of institutions & retail consumers as loyal customers. The company today, has a 12000 sq
ft factory on the outskirts of Chennai. Here, a comprehensive range of
meat & processed food products is produced under strict hygiene &
sanitation standards.
From a start with selling products
solely through our own retail outlets, today we supply our products to
a host of supermarket chains and through reliable cold chains and a well-networked
distribution system, we get our products to customers across the country
& beyond. Our philosophy of customizing products
& portions to suit individual customers has helped us emerge as a popular
choice for a range of institutions that include the best hotels, restaurants,
catering companies, defence canteens, pizza chains, ship’s chandlers, bakeries,
etc.
We are a preferred partner for a
few Indian & Multi National Companies to act as their commissaries.

Mr. Kurien B.COM, F.C.A started
his career as a practicing Chartered Accountant, with VARMA & VARMA
Chartered Accountants, Cochin. In 1954, he was deputed to set up a branch
in Madras.
He retired from the firm in the year
1971 to establish his own business. He ventured into the field of seafood
exports with Southern Sea Foods & into property development with Southern
Investments. He until date continues to contribute as the Chairman of the
companies. He has made forays into other areas like Printing, Engineering
etc.
He has served as a director with
Bharat Overseas Bank for a period of three years. He was nominated as a
Director of EXPORT CREDIT & GUARANTEE CORPORATION and a member of the
MARINE PRODUCTS EXPORT DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY. He was the Head of a trade
delegation on behalf of THE FEDERATION OF INDIAN EXPORTERS ORGANISATION.

Mrs. Mary Rodrigues is one
of the heirs of a first generation entrepreneur, Mr. Kurien. She is a graduate
in arts from Madras University, with a Certificate in Management from the
University of California.
She has over 18 years of experience
in the food processing industry. Product development is her forte. Sausages,
salami, and toppings for pizza, which suit the Indian palate, are some
of her recent developments.
Her good public relations skills
and marketing acumen have helped chart the growth of the company. Her understanding
of other people’s capabilities and an unstated subtle demand for perfection
has endeared her to staff and clients alike.
She constantly travels the globe
in search of new products and technologies. Her keen eye for detail helps
translate these to reality in India. |

Mr. Eric Rodrigues is a B.A.
(Hons) graduate from St.Xavier’s College, Bombay. He has over two decades
of experience in various areas of the food processing industry having worked
with a host of Indian and Multinational companies in various capacities.
He has further honed his skills in finance, administration, sales and marketing.
Having traveled the length and breadth
of the country during his earlier employment in companies like Avery and
Deejay he was the natural choice of Kemin Europa (a US based company) and
Val Products India Ltd. (a fully owned subsidiary of Val Products Inc.,
U.S.A.) as a senior manager to set up their operations in India and South
Asia. This experience helps him in his current tenure as the director of
Farm Suzanne Pvt. Ltd.
A great humanitarian, he has the
interests of those working with him close at heart. General Administration,
Sales, Marketing and Logistics management are his areas of responsibility
apart from helping Mrs. Mary Rodrigues with factory administration. |
